ENDOWMENT OF MS ISO 9001:2008 CERTIFICATE

A consensus for the implementation of MS ISO 9001:2000 in KEJORA was finalised on May 2003. According to the "Guideline for Implementation Of MS ISO 9001:2000 within the Public Service" issued by the Government on 11th July 1996, implementation of MS ISO 9001:2000 in KEJORA has exceeded the implementation phase. The appointment activity of team personnel comprises of 3 groups; 2 groups from the Local Government Division and 1 group from the Urban Planner & Project Development Division.

South East Johor Development Authority (KEJORA) has received its first MS ISO 9001:2000 certification on 8th October 2004 and has renewed the certification with collaboration from SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd. until 7th October 2010. Certification Number: AR 3401.

On 15th November 2008, the latest standard of ISO 9001:2008 was declared to replace ISO 9001:2000. No certificate for version 2000 shall be issued later than 15th November 2009 and final date of validity for ISO 9001:2000 certificate is 15th November 2010. Hence, each organisation which has acquired the ISO 9001:2000 recertification is required to migrate to the latest ISO 9001:2008 standard before 11th November 2010 in order to  maintain the existing standard and remain relevant.

We gladly announced that effective 1st December 2009, KEJORA has successfully migrated to a new version of MS ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System in order to remain relevant.

In view of the above, a decision has been finalised whereby all procedures inclusive of the Quality Manual are provided with a new issue number. The new issue number is 04, amendment number 00.  Only implementation records applicable for amendment are amended with the amendment number 06. All documents as stated above are effective as of 1st December 2009 (Tuesday). This amendment covers the overall document for KEJORA MS ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System.

Quality Document shall be distributed in softcopy format to all Controlled Document Holder. Original document is stored in hardcopy format by the Document Officer. Any document printed in softcopy is deemed as non-controlled and shall not be applicable towards any form of amendment for updating.

In realising the Migration for a New Version of MS ISO 9001:2008 – Quality Management System, several planned activities and programmes shall be implemented in the year 2010. Among them are a Training/Information Session on Quality Procedure, an MS ISO 9001:2008 Internal Quality Audit Workshop, MS ISO 9001:2008 Internal Audit and many others.

The KEJORA Quality Management System will be implementing duties and activities for three scope of activities as stated below:

• • Control of development starting from receiving layout plan application up to building plan from the client and enforcement action.
• • Control of business licence starting from receiving licence application up to issuance of licence including enforcement.
• • Project management starting from preliminary planning stage up to the final declaration stage.
